H1N1 strikes UniMAP

UniMAP was safe from H1N1 at first, but looks like everything is turning upside down. This morning around 1a.m, we were told that all classes are to be canceled due to several cases of H1N1 in Kampung Wai. Midnight, around 2 cases were CONFIRMED infected with the virus. The number increased to 4 cases this afternoon, with 16(rough figure) suspected! It was shocking, and all of us were like "Yay, Holiday! 1 week 1 week!!". I told myself that if there is a week of hols to be announced, this means that our August hols will be brought forward. No good! But by all means, we have to get out of this place immediately if we have to! I don't wanna be infected with that damn virus.

So how did the H1N1 virus came to UniMAP? Basically, it is because of a few students who went to a SPA (Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam) camp in Melaka. For more info, go to http://www.bharian.com.my/Current_News/BH/Monday/Mutakhir/20090727174839/Article/

In the afternoon, all of us are to go for check-ups in Kampung Wai. They'll only check our body temperature and nothing else. Weird eh? When I was being checked by one of them, a "beep beep beep" sound came from the device. I was like "Owh noes...". To my relieve, she said "Ok, pergi sana dan tandatangan, awak sihat!" Great! At least I could escape the quarantine thingy.

Seberang Ramai cafe was packed with students...

Looks like an Infrared Body Temperature Detector

At night, we were not allowed to enter Kampung Wai, or to get out of Seberang Ramai! This time, we're being quarantine for real. All gates are closed, and security guards guarding both entrance and exit. Haha, this has never happen before...and its happening. Looks like the ones you see in movies like Resident Evil! "You're not allowed to leave this area! It's full of infections out there, so get back to your hostel immediately"!!! Oh well, " WE ARE DOOM"

OSHA

Played dotA and some warcraft games ytd night till 3am. Haha, it's been quite some time since I entered Warcraft. No choice, but to play with my buddies whom keep on bugging me to play. Zzz. Woke up at 10.30am. 02Mania in the morning, then attend some talk about Occupational Safety and Health at 2pm.

OSHA stands for Occupational Safety and Health Association. There were 3 speakers, and I was like...Gahh, sleepy ahha. Glad I made it through without sleeping haha. Basically, here are some of the points they talked about:

  • Safety Awareness - What is safety? What is the importance of Safety?
  • HIRARC - Hazard Identfication, Risk Assesment & Risk Control.
  • What is Hazard? Hazard + Exposure = Risk. Exposure leads to unsafe acts & conditions
  • Benefits of OSH (Reducing Accidents & Injuries, Improve regulatory compliance and etc)
This talk is like a preparation for us to enter into the industrial field since we are leaving for Industrial Training, or commonly known as Internship on December 1st. Hope to do my internship in Kuala Lumpur!! Do pray that I get some good company in K.L k haha. That's all for now. See ya guys!

Lazyness

Looks like I won't be updating everyday, since there's nothing much happening in my life. The same routine goes on everyday...with classes in the morning till evening. Then, vball till 8pm and dinner. Have not been going to the library lately, due to the fact that I'm so into vball. Would sacrifice just to improve my vball skills. Apparently, my digging still sucks. I shall find a new sifu to polish my skills haha.

Was sleeping from morning till noon. Then, meet up with my supervisor at 3pm-5pm. I did some of the finite state machine module, bt it was wrong lolz. He corrected me, and told me which part that I went wrong. I'm just grateful that I had such a great supervisor. He was in my 1st choice list of FYP (Final Year Project) supervisor. Thank God that my prayer is answered.

In the evening, had some ice-kacang and hotdog for tea. Then, vball till 8pm. Dinner and then...lepak again ahha. Yeah, as you can see...I've been really really lazy lately.

Alor Setar!

Had nothing to do today, so decided to head down to Alor Setar with my course mates in search for electronic components. Fizi rented a Gen-2. Left around 2.30pm. There were only 5 of us, which is Deimis, Safwan, Yee Ann, Fizi and I.

My life was at stake thx to this...

Our destination...

After that, we went to Tesco for donuts. I thought Fizi wanted to get some groceries, but he told me that he's going there for Big Apple. I was like "Alright, let's go get some donuts, then Harry Potter and later dinner". Bought 12 donuts which costs around RM21.00. Split by 5 person and each pay about 4 bucks for 2 donuts haha.

Next stop, Alor Setar Mall a.k.a Pacific Mall a.k.a Star Parade. Wanted to watch Harry Potter, but the movie ends at 11.30p.m. We had to return the car by 12.00p.m. Oh well, tried our luck at Jitra Mall. Sad to say that most of the movies starts at 10.00p.m. Gahh!! No movies to watch...such sadness.

Tesco...I know its lame, bt u must understand haha

Delicious Donuts!

Decided to take the wheel since Fizi been driving all-day

PPMS - 2nd Intake!

The 2nd intake is here! Congratulations to all who made it!! At first, I was told by Mat Nor that my name is in the PPMS for the 2nd intake. I told him that I would be having labs, classes and final project to catch up. Had no time for PPMS anymore. He didn't said anything, so I assumed that it was a yes haha.

Lab and more labs. Worst was Microcontroller. No doubt about it! I could only demonstrate 2 questions. Didn't had enough time for me to demo my last question...sadness. En.Zul was like... "Siapa gagal demo kosong teruih!". Very well then...it can't be help.

After our microcontroller lab..

Them discussing about dunno what la...

And since I had nothing to do at night, decided to head to Dewan Kapitol to help my fellow PPMS buddies. Hmmp talking about girls, they we're pretty okay. Better than the first intake I think. Haha. I asked Zhao Han regarding the number of hp numbers he took. Guess what? He told me that there's only one. A girl called Amanda. I don't know who she is, but I've seen her and...she's pretty okay. For the girls, I dun look at guys alright...so dun ask me haha.

Life goes on...

It's time to put my life back on track! Whatever happens, it happens for a reason. If it was meant for you, it will. And if it doesn't, always try another. These quotes are the ones that I've always remember. Woke up at 8.30am today. Had to meet my supervisor at 10.00am. Sad part was, me and another partner had to wait for him till 12pm, as he had something else to do. Completed our discussion in an hour.

Went to the library at 3pm. Reorganize all my files and folders, clear up all the junks and etc. Haha, more like computer maintenance. Did a lil research on my final year project. I'll explain in detail later regarding my project. Thank God for his greatness in granting my first choice title which is The Automated Multi-Based Parking System. Something like the one you see in Sunway Pyramid but not as advance as that for sure.

2nd intake is tomorrow! Hope there will be nice & decent girls, which I doubt it'll happen. Wanted to participate in PPMS, but I have 3 classes and lots more stuffs to catch up with. Ohh btw, I got BAND 4 for my MUET (Malaysian University English Test). Pretty satisfied and grateful with it haha. Till then, see you around. Do drop some comments on the cbox/posts yeah thx!

If only...

Life has been hectic lately. Hehe, ever since I met her...she was the one that keeps me going. Whoever reads this might know who is it, but for those who don't...you'll know someday. Hmmp, the first thing that came to my mind when I wake up is her smile. I'll just rest on my bed for some time...and think. What can I do today? What should I do keep myself out of this miserable moment? Talking about miserable, let's see what's causes my life to be miserable.

There's one night when she told me that she has broke up with her bf. I was surprise. It's like out of no where, she just told me that. I told myself not to assume anything, because when assumption doesn't strike, it hurts badly. I just let it be, giving myself another chance to wake up ever since my downfall on year 2004. The pain has gone, but the scar remains. A painful memory to remember, but shall never ever be repeated. I swore...

Few days later, she told me that her relationship is back intact. Heh, I was heartbroken. Looks like things will not go as I've planned. I am speechless...so I just say...great. There's nothing I can do....an open door that I thought was going to be open for me...has just closed. Some asked whether I should tell her my feelings or not. The answer is no. She's in relationship now, and I don't want her to think of anything else except herself and her bf. As long as she's comfortable, I'm okay with it. Heh, feels better now. I shall remain quiet, continue with my own daily routine....and leave the rest in memories....God bless both of you :)

Hang out time!

Class was pretty ok this first week. My lecturers we're pretty okay, except for Encik Zul. Gahh, the pressure is on, but somehow all of us seems to be struggling doing Microcontroller. I've gotta agree that En.Zul is a great lecturer, but just the way he conduct his lectures. Sometimes, he goes too fast...sometimes he expects too much from us. I also do know that he wants to maintain the standard of the Diploma Computer Engineering, bt he should also consider our situation as well. Anyways, I will have to study extra hard this round as this will be my final semester in UniMAP.

Went to the library this morning with Vernoon. We have been close friends ever since we met in PPMS. Had to rush back to Kampung Wai at 3pm, because my RPS (Rakan Pendamping Siswa) wants to see me. Sad to say that there's is no bus to Kampung Wai. Told my room mate to help me out. Thanks to Kite & Elvin, I do not have to see him on Monday.

Later at night, Me, Kite, Vernoon, Mell, Guat Yee, Nuta & Chia Ling went for dinner at a seafood restaurant called Hai Tien. It was pretty bad at first, cause Nuta is vegetarian, and most of the dishes are not vegeterian. That includes the Kai Lan as well. Here's a short convo between us and the tauke.

Kite: Why is the Sizzling vegetables not vegetarian? There is dried shrimps in it!!
Tauke: No, you said whether there is chicken in it or not.
So I said no. I just put dried shrimps in it.

----- Part one settle -----

Kite: We ordered the Claypot vegetables. Why is there egg in it? I thought you said it is 100% vegetarian!??!
Marcus: Yeah, why is there egg in it. Vegeterians can't eat egg u dumbass (I tokoh tambah the dumbass k)
Tauke: Most of the vegeterians here eat egg. How would I know whether you want egg or not?
Kite: Well, you said most! Not all right? Basically, our friend here can't eat egg and the whole dish is ****ed up. Can we have a replacement because we didn't even eat it yet.
Tauke: No you can't have a replacement.
Kite: Then what are we supposed to do now? Our friend is vegeterian and he can't eat a damn thing because of the egg stuff in it.
Tauke. Alright then, I will have to take out my pocket money and pay for that dish....

----- Part 2 settle -----

Let the pictures do the talking. I'm tired haha...

Day 5 - The Epilogue

The last day of PPMS is here. This day marks the end of our job as PPMS, which also means that we can finally have our beauty sleep and rest for the next few days. Don't worry, we will still help you out. At 8.00am, we had some morning exercise with the Vice Chancellor at Dewan 2020. This morning exercise is known as SenamRobik.

Later in the afternoon, all the new intake students will have to shift out of their temporary hostel at Kampung Wai. Then, they will be shifting to their permanent hostel according to their course.
For example, Computer Engineering students will stay in Kampung Wai. We PPMS had to check the houses and sign the students Hostel Slip before they are allowed to shift out.
